Privacy Policy
How Betty's Luck collects, uses and protects your personal information. Effective October 13, 2026.
Betty's Luck (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates bettysluck.com. We respect your privacy and only collect what we need to process and deliver your plant orders and respond to your enquiries. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Information you give us — your name, email address and any details you include when you fill in a contact, enquiry or sign-up form (for example your delivery address, the plants you'd like to order and any gift message).
- Technical information — our hosting and security providers automatically log standard data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to keep the site secure and working.
- Preferences — your cookie choices, stored in your own browser.
2. How we use your information
- To reply to enquiries and provide the services you request.
- To send emails you have signed up for. Every email contains an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the website secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix problems.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Where data protection laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we rely on your consent, the performance of a contract, our legitimate interests (running and securing our business) and legal obligations as our lawful bases.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use only essential browser storage to run this site and remember your cookie choice. Optional analytics or marketing tools are only enabled if you agree via our cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookie-consent-v1 | Essential (local storage) | Remembers your cookie preferences | Until cleared |
4. Third-party services
To deliver a fast and secure website we use a small number of trusted providers, who may process limited technical data (such as your IP address) on our behalf: our web hosting provider; Cloudflare (content delivery and security); Google Fonts (typography); and Unsplash (images). We never sell your personal information.
5. How long we keep data
We keep enquiry data for as long as needed to respond and for up to 24 months afterwards, customer records for as long as required by law, and mailing-list data until you unsubscribe.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. California residents have the right to know, delete and correct personal information and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email [email protected]. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Security
This site is served exclusively over encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to submitted information is restricted to the people who need it to serve you.
8. Children
Our services are not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “effective” date at the top shows when it was last changed.
